Getting Started

Step 1: Generate from a Prompt

1. Go to gamma.app and sign up (free).
2. Click "Create New" → "Generate with AI."
3. Choose "Presentation," "Document," or "Webpage."
4. Type your topic: "Introduction to machine learning for non-technical executives"
5. Pick a theme from the visual options.
6. Click "Generate" — your full presentation appears in ~30 seconds.

Step 2: Edit Your Presentation

1. Click any card (slide) to select it.
2. Click text to edit directly.
3. Click the AI button (star icon) on any card to rewrite, shorten, or expand that specific section.
4. Use the "+" between cards to insert new slides.
5. Drag cards to reorder.

Step 3: Paste Your Own Content

1. Click "Create New" → "Paste in text."
2. Paste any text — a doc, email, research notes, bullet points, or a URL.
3. Gamma will structure and design it into a presentation.
4. Review and edit the output.

Step 4: Share and Track

1. Click "Share" in the top right.
2. Copy the link and share with recipients.
3. Open Analytics (chart icon) to see who viewed it and for how long.
4. Export to PowerPoint if you need to share as a file: Share → Export → PowerPoint.

Best Practices

• Be specific in your prompt: "10-slide pitch deck for a Series A raise of $8M for a food delivery startup" beats "pitch deck."
• Use "Paste" for existing content: Don't type a prompt if you already have the content written — paste it in.
• Edit at the slide level first, then refine individual text.
• Check the Analytics: The view-time data on each slide tells you which parts of your deck need improvement.

Pricing & Plans

Gamma sells four tiers — Free, Plus, Pro, and Ultra — with monthly and annual billing, plus a sales-assisted option for teams. Gamma loads its prices client-side and does not render them in the page HTML, so no figure is quoted here; check gamma.app/pricing for the price and currency in your region.

Plans are differentiated by AI credits (which roll over month to month, up to a cap) and by how many cards Gamma will generate per prompt:

• Free: Up to 10 cards per prompt. Simple presentations, docs, websites, social, and images. Import from PDF and PPTX; export to PDF, PPTX, PNG, and Google Slides.
• Plus: Up to 20 cards per prompt. Remove Gamma branding. Advanced AI image models.
• Pro: Up to 60 cards per prompt. Premium AI image models, custom branding and fonts, detailed analytics and advanced sharing, up to 10 custom domains, API access, workspace templates.
• Ultra: Up to 75 cards per prompt. 20× more AI usage, access to Gamma's most advanced text, image, and video models, up to 100 custom domains, early access to new features.

Gamma is a SOC 2 Type II compliant organization.

Limitations

• Presentation Structure: Gamma works best for linear presentations — less suited for complex, non-linear navigation structures.
• No Offline Mode: Web-only platform; requires internet to create and edit.
• Export Fidelity: PowerPoint exports can require formatting cleanup since Gamma's web-native layouts don't always translate 1:1 to slide files.
• Cards per Prompt: Lower tiers cap how many cards a single AI generation can produce (10 on Free, up to 75 on Ultra).
• AI Credits: Credits are metered per plan and roll over only up to a cap; heavy generation can exhaust them.
• API is Pro+: The public API is not available on the Free or Plus plans.
