Gamma
Gamma is the AI presentation tool that actually replaces making slides from scratch. Describe your topic in a sentence, and Gamma generates a complete, beautifully designed deck in 30 seconds — with real content, smart layout choices, and a visual hierarchy that looks like it was designed by someone who cared. Then you edit it like a website, not a PowerPoint.
Overview
Launched in 2023, Gamma emerged at the perfect moment when professionals were tired of spending hours making PowerPoint decks look presentable. The product's core insight was that presentations are really web content forced into slide format — so Gamma builds on the web, making presentations interactive, shareable via link, and continuously editable without version file chaos.
In April 2026, Gamma is used by millions of professionals worldwide, with particular adoption among startup founders (investor decks), sales teams (sales enablement), and educators (course materials). The platform has expanded beyond presentations to include documents and websites, all generated from the same AI engine.
Key Features
- AI Generation from Prompt: Type a topic or paste an outline, choose a style, and Gamma generates a complete deck with content and design in ~30 seconds.
- Paste-to-Deck: Paste any text — an email thread, a document, research notes, a URL — and Gamma structures it into a presentation automatically.
- Smart Layout Engine: Gamma handles design decisions — which slide gets a big header, which gets a table, which gets an image — based on content semantics.
- AI Image Generation: Built-in image generation places contextually relevant visuals in your slides without switching tools.
- Interactive Blocks: Slides contain interactive elements — embedded polls, toggleable content, embedded videos — that engage live audiences and async viewers.
- Shareable via Link: All Gamma presentations are shareable via URL with real-time view analytics (who opened it, for how long, which slides they spent time on).
- Export Options: Export to PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF, or Google Slides for compatibility with traditional workflows.
- Analytics: See who viewed your presentation, how long they spent on each slide, and where they dropped off.
How It Works
Technical Architecture:
- AI Engine: Uses frontier language models (GPT-4o routing) to generate content and structure.
- Design System: Rule-based smart layout engine that assigns templates based on content type.
- Rendering: Browser-native rendering — presentations are websites, not slide files.
- Sharing: UUID-based shareable links with optional password protection.
Use Cases
Startup & Business
- Investor Pitches: "Seed round pitch deck for a B2B SaaS company in the HR tech space" → complete deck in 30 seconds.
- Quarterly Business Reviews: Structure dense data into clear executive decks without formatting time.
- Proposal Decks: Turn proposal documents into visual presentations for client meetings.
Sales & Marketing
- Sales Decks: Generate personalized decks for each prospect from a standard template.
- Product Launches: Quickly create announcement and feature overview materials.
- One-pagers: Gamma's "Document" mode produces polished one-pagers from rough notes.
Education
- Lecture Slides: Convert lecture notes or research into structured slide presentations.
- Course Materials: Create interactive modules with embedded questions and toggleable content.
Internal Communications
- Project Updates: Turn a bullet-point update into a visual status deck.
- Process Documentation: Create illustrated process walkthroughs that are easier to follow than text docs.
Getting Started
Step 1: Generate from a Prompt
- Go to gamma.app and sign up (free).
- Click "Create New" → "Generate with AI."
- Choose "Presentation," "Document," or "Webpage."
- Type your topic: "Introduction to machine learning for non-technical executives"
- Pick a theme from the visual options.
- Click "Generate" — your full presentation appears in ~30 seconds.
Step 2: Edit Your Presentation
- Click any card (slide) to select it.
- Click text to edit directly.
- Click the AI button (star icon) on any card to rewrite, shorten, or expand that specific section.
- Use the "+" between cards to insert new slides.
- Drag cards to reorder.
Step 3: Paste Your Own Content
- Click "Create New" → "Paste in text."
- Paste any text — a doc, email, research notes, bullet points, or a URL.
- Gamma will structure and design it into a presentation.
- Review and edit the output.
Step 4: Share and Track
- Click "Share" in the top right.
- Copy the link and share with recipients.
- Open Analytics (chart icon) to see who viewed it and for how long.
- Export to PowerPoint if you need to share as a file: Share → Export → PowerPoint.
Best Practices
- Be specific in your prompt: "10-slide pitch deck for a Series A raise of $8M for a food delivery startup" beats "pitch deck."
- Use "Paste" for existing content: Don't type a prompt if you already have the content written — paste it in.
- Edit at the slide level first, then refine individual text.
- Check the Analytics: The view-time data on each slide tells you which parts of your deck need improvement.
Pricing & Plans
- Free Tier: Unlimited decks, standard themes, Gamma branding on shared links. AI credits: 400/month.

Limitations
- Presentation Structure: Gamma works best for linear presentations — less suited for complex, non-linear navigation structures.

- AI Credits: Free tier AI credits can run out if you generate many large decks in a month.
